WASHI is important in the Japanese culture and is a proud art of Japan.
In using those natural materials, ONO launched SENSHOKU-WASHI which has dyed with " " (lacquer). Up until recently. we have been utilizing KAKISHIBU(persimmon juice), BENGARA (red ocher) and others, to make over 300 different types of SENSHOKU-WASHI in ONO's original way. However after extensive trials and test we finally found " "(lacquer) created a unique transparentness with a rich black flavor. Dyed with" "(lacquer) brought out clear color of " "(Indian ink) which ONO used to create innovative pattern and shades of vermilion-black which look amazing when accompanied with a light. Hence it's old but yet modernized contemporary style which creates amazing contemporary interior.
